Our responsibilities...to local communities and society In common with our operations elsewhere in the world, here in the UK we are committed to takes part actively in the economic and social development of the communities around its sites, including local dialogue with stakeholders to facilitate integration of our activities. National and local charities The company undertakes many fundraising activities throughout the year to support our worthy national charity CLIC Sargent (Cancer and Leukaemia in Childhood). At a local level, regional offices, refineries and service stations often hold 'fun days', raising thousands of pounds for charities in their area. Education Education is one of our key areas in term of community involvement. TOTAL UK has a schools programme and contributes to local and national education programmes (e.g. Bursary Scheme, employee volunteering for Reading Partners, etc.). We are also sponsors of Watford Football Club and Preston North End Learning Centres, part of the 'Playing for Success' programme. This is a partnership between the Department for Education and Skills, a broad range of organization and businesses, 'Playing for Success' programme focus on helping children get up to speed in the key skills of literacy, numeracy and ITC, using the fun environment of sport as a medium of learning TOTAL For information about our TOTAL Bursary fund for students, please click here.
