Little Learners TOTAL launched the Little Learners scheme to raise road safety awareness for children under six and worked with schools in Guernsey and Jersey to provide teachers with all the information they needed to make road safety fun, entertaining and memorable for the class. TOTAL teamed up with children's TV favourite BRUM to create a scheme full of exciting activities which cover four key road safety areas to teach Channel Islands' children; safety on the pavement; how to cross the road safely including the Green Cross Code; where it is safe to cross and how to be safe in the car. Little Learners has its own dedicated website so parents and children can continue learning about how dangerous roads can be. Visit www.totallittlelearners.co.uk
Calendar As part of TOTAL's support for local charities our 2007 calendar raised £1,000 for Help A Guernsey Child and Help A Jersey Child. The calendar was produced with the help of St Mary and St Michael School in Guernsey who created the artwork based on the theme of Energy and the Environment. The calendar was sent out to our customers to help raise awareness of the charities and was also sold at TOTAL outlets in Guernsey and Jersey. The money raised from each island was given to Help A Guernsey and Help A Jersey Child who each received £500. TOTAL was delighted to be able to make the donation to the charities, which gives every penny to deserving projects involving children. As a thank you to St Mary and St Michael TOTAL is putting additional energy and resources into creating a Totally Tranquil Garden at the school which will give the children a quiet, environmentally aware area.
CTV Make A Break TOTAL is delighted to be one of the sponsors of Channel Television's Make A Break competition. In 2007 a live draw on CTV gave Highlands College the chance to make a 20 second TV commercial for TOTAL. After lots of research and discussion they made a fantastic commercial based on TOTAL bringing warmth to the Channel Islands and we were impressed by the high standard of all of the entries. We have supported this initiative in 2006 and 2007 and will continue to in the future as it gives youngsters practical experience in a business environment, working as a team and making deadlines.
