For two years, our team of engineers and technicians ran extensive tests to develop the best performing advanced fuel. The tests to develop TOTAL EXCELLIUM lasted 3,000 hours, 217,000 miles and we used 100 vehicles.

The tests proved that TOTAL EXCELLIUM can cut carbon dioxide emissions (the gas that adds to the greenhouse effect) by up to 5%. It also reduces pollutants like carbon monoxide and black smoke by up to 25%*.

We continue to support our environmentally aware customers, and our planet, by introducing greener fuels in advance of legislation. With modern refineries, we have been delivering fuels that meet the Government's 2005 specifications since 1998.

Here's how we try harder:

• Advanced fuels such as TOTAL EXCELLIUM are much cleaner and can cut carbon dioxide emissions by 5% and carbon monoxide emissions by up to 25%.
• TOTAL are on target to meet the Government's specifications on bio-fuels. Basically it means that 2.5% of fuel mix is to be made of fuel which comes from living things such as wood. It's a useful way of reducing greenhouse gas emissions compared to standard transport fuels.
