TOTAL products, production facilities and marketing operations have BS EN ISO 9001:2000 quality assurance approval, thereby enabling us to meet the latest ACEA and API specifications. Users should satisfy themselves that engines to be subjected to extended drain intervals have been designed for such, and the manufacturer of the vehicle issues an oil specification for ultra-extended drain intervals.

In addition to ISO 9001:2000 TOTAL was one of the first in the lubricants industry to achieve the highly prized QS 9000 quality accreditation covering all aspects of the business from Production through to sales and marketing of all products. This is very much a prerequisite for supply of our products to the automotive industry.

ACEA Specifications

TOTAL's range of oils appropriately surpasses the stringent requirements developed by the Association of Constructors of European Automobiles (ACEA). This is the authorised trade association of the European vehicle manufacturers, and is essentially concerned with co-ordinating quality standards. The achievements of the ACEA standards for service-fill engine oils are a prime example of how the consumer benefits by being able to buy better quality products.

API Specifications

Standards and tests are set by the American Petroleum Institute to ensure that appropriate engine oils perform in accordance with the requirements of vehicles currently in production. These requirements change as applications develop.

Leading Manufacturers Approvals

As a major international oil company, TOTAL is committed to producing the highest quality products with properties which are both demonstrable and measurable. All of TOTAL's lubricants are approved to the highest quality and performance standards demanded by ACEA and API. Some of the the world's leading OE manufacturers also approve them.
