The Prince of Wales Hospice Festive Quiz in partnership with TotalEnergies

At Total, we actively support our local communities and charities across the UK. This Christmas, we’re pleased to be partnering with The Prince of Wales Hospice to host The Festive Celebrity Quiz on Thursday, 17th December, 2020 at 19:00 (GMT).

The virtual quiz

With the goal of raising £1,800 for the Hospice, we are spreading some festive cheer with a virtual general knowledge quiz that will feature questions from celebrities such as Coronation Street’s Colson Smith, and ‘I’m A Celebrity’ star Shane Richie. 

Whether you compete against your family, friends, or colleagues – the live, online quiz is sure to get you in the Christmas spirit! 

Participants of the quiz will be in with the chance of winning the £500 prize draw. They can also enter by uploading a festive selfie using the hashtag #TheFestiveCelebrityQuiz and tagging The Prince of Wales Hospice’s Twitter handle, @pwhospice.    

With the help of your donations, we can support The Prince of Wales Hospice during this time of uncertainty and increased demand for their services. The Hospice has continued to provide its unwavering, high-quality care during the pandemic and we want to celebrate their services and help them continue their amazing work.

We are thrilled to announce that The Prince of Wales Hospice Festive Quiz will be joined by celebrity guests such as ITV Calendar presenters, Castleford Tigers rugby players, and a Coronation Street actor. Our guests include:

Each celebrity will host a different round of the quiz, including questions on general knowledge and Christmas trivia.  

 

The Prince of Wales Hospice 

Total UK has continuously supported The Prince of Wales Hospice in West Yorkshire, participating in numerous fundraising activities in 2019.  

As part of our 50th anniversary celebrations, we are furthering our commitment to the Yorkshire region and, despite the current health crisis, continuing to participate in virtual, fundraising activities for the Pontefract-based charity.  

The Prince of Wales Hospice provides palliative care and support for patients with life-limiting illness and their families. Since 1989, the Hospice has been providing free, 24-hour care to the Five Towns area of West Yorkshire.  

Only 25% of Hospice costs are covered by the NHS, which creates the need to fundraise over three million pounds annually. Of every £1 raised, 87p is spent directly on patient care and 13p is invested to raise more funds.  

Rebecca Taylor, community and partnerships fundraiser at The Prince of Wales Hospice, said: “The Coronavirus pandemic has put a stop to most of our planned fundraising events this year but we must continue to raise money so we are looking forward to hosting our second virtual quiz. We are so grateful to our stellar line-up of celebrities who are giving up their time to put on an entertaining evening and we hope as many people as possible will be able to take part and join in the fun.”   

 

How to get involved

The star-studded quiz is open to all and is completely free, and will be hosted on the Just Giving Page. Donations to the Hospice are extremely welcome, and can be easily made before, during, or after the quiz.
