This March (6th to 10th), one of the badminton world’s greatest events comes to Birmingham: the YONEX All England Open 2019. Featuring the best players in the world fighting it out for success in one of the world’s most respected competitions. Sponsored by Total, here’s everything you need to know about the event.

The competition

Badminton has been wowing audiences across the globe since the world badminton Championship in 1899. This year we welcome the 109th edition, with the Birmingham leg promising audiences pulse-pounding action featuring the biggest names in the sport’s HSBC BWF World Tour Super 1,000 category.

With the roster packed with Olympic and world champions from across the globe, the event is sure to be a nail-biting one across all five groups. Overall, 155 matches will be taking place across the five-day competition, with five courts of action-packed play.

Total and the YONEX All England Open

Total is the Official Energy Partner of the Badminton World Federation. This global agreement spans until 2021, after a successful initiation in 2015. Total’s values of performance, precision and endurance are aligned with the tough competition displayed in badminton. The sport requires instant reaction times, expert skill and being able to handle extreme pressure. In the energy sector, the same intensity applies.

With a long tradition in sports partnerships, alongside motorsport, football and hockey, the HSBC BWF World Tour enables Total to reach a new audience. Total signage and branding will be clearly visible during the competition – and at Birmingham, fans will be able to interact with the TOTAL QUARTZ robot.

Where can I watch the badminton action?

The YONEX All England Open takes place between Wednesday 6th and Sunday 10th March at Arena Birmingham. Tickets are still available but act fast to avoid disappointment! There will be highlights on the BWF website if you don’t make it in person. Last year, the event witnessed this amazing 102-shot rally. We can’t wait to see more action this year and hope to see you there.
