Nevertheless, if you do begin to run out – as shown by an amber warning light on your dashboard – and you want to refill yourself, learn how to check, refill and remove AdBlue® in our handy guide.

Machinery AdBlue® consumption

AdBlue® consumption in diesel-powered machinery and off-road vehicles is dependent on a wide range of factors, including engine size, usage and operating conditions. For more information on how much AdBlue® your machinery is likely to use, contact the manufacturer or consult your owner’s manual.

Bus and coach AdBlue® consumption

Bus consumption of AdBlue® usually equates to around 5% of diesel consumption, although the amount used will be dependent on the mileage of the vehicle: generally, city buses will use 20 to 30 litres each month, compared to 40 litres per month for buses operating over longer, cross-country routes.
