Total supplies a complete range of lubricants for all types of mining equipment, catering to the requirements of every major manufacturer. With our innovation, history in the market and expertise in lubricants the key benefit is very clear – we can help you be more efficient and cost effective. In the field of drilling, we are committed to worker safety and environmental protection, something reflected in our excellent EDC products.
Cost is critical in the mining sector, and to help you improve margins on every project, we’ve developed lubricants that ensure protection for machinery and need to be changed less often. Lower lube consumption and fewer breakdowns are just the start – we also offer a total cost of ownership (TCO) service to help optimise lubricant usage on any mining project. Working with teams across your operation, we’ll introduce more fuel-efficient options, improve lubricant handling procedures and analyse your storage and infrastructure logistics to find better ways of doing things.
Our service helped Lafarge Tarmac save £128,000 over nine months at one of its quarries, and we can help you too.

As a leading supplier of gas and oil extraction operations around the world, we’ve developed environmental drilling compounds (EDCs) that maximise safety and minimise environmental risk.
Worker safety is addressed by their low vapour pressure and high flash point qualities, resulting in reduced fire hazards. They irritate neither the skin nor eyes, according to OECD test guidelines. We are committed to protecting the environment as well, and our EDC fluids have extremely low aromatic content and are readily biodegradeable.
Total’s EDC fluids are approved by OSPAR – the Oslo Paris Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment in the North-East Atlantic.
